![]() So we just held our elections in the USA... and many people are delighted with the end result... and there almost equally as many vehemently opposed to it... There is a certain freedom in democracy that is a great blessing. Instead of a ruling hierarchy deciding your future for you, you have a voice, a chance to make yourself heard, an opportunity to change the direction of an entire nation. That is both an amazing blessing and an awesome responsibility... Whether your candidate won or lost ... If you feel blessed by the outcome or defeated, there are a few things we all need to remember... First of all, this is an amazing country to live in. God has blessed this nation in countless ways ! There isn't a single person who did not have the opportunity to be accounted for in this decision. That's the beauty of our republic, it ensures that tiranny cannot go unchecked . Secondarily, this is a God fearing land and His name is the only name to be glorified. We have a king and His name is Jesus, period. Not a man nor a woman, but the Lord alone who sits upon a throne in the heavenlies. It is He alone that judges the nations. It is He alone who blesses and corrects those who He loves. God, the author of life itself, tenderly considers all our petitions, catches our every tear, makes good plans for each of us from the beginning... It is our Father who tenderly chastises us when we have gone astray, to bring us back into His good plan for our benefit. This same Father is faithful to bless us and lead us toward that abundant life we cry out for. If you feel like the rod of correction is upon you, remember that your good Father only disciplines those He loves. He is sovereign in this world and will see you through whatever comes. He deserves your unreserved praise in season and out alike. If you are happy with the outcome and feel blessed then by all means praise God for His goodness... But be humble in all your ways and do not flaunt your blessings in your brethrens face. Understand that others of an opposing opinion may be frightened about the future . In all things show compassion with each other, encourage your brothers and sisters that they may find strength and comfort in our ever changing world. May God be praised in all things, in seasons of plenty and of drought. Lord I pray that Your peace will comfort those who fear, that Your higher wisdom will lead us, and that You will cover this great country with abundant graces. Help us Lord to first be Your children born of love, second, may we remember that we are all Americans and take care of each other as You have taught us to. TheUnknownSoul.net |
